ude the Obscure is one of the most beloved English roses bred by David Austin. Known for its exceptionally strong fruity fragrance, this shrub rose is a top choice for gardeners seeking both beauty and scent in their landscapes.
The blooms are large and cup-shaped, displaying a soft apricot to creamy yellow color that blends beautifully with other garden plants. Its scent is often described as a mix of guava, sweet white wine, and tropical fruits, making it one of the richest scented roses in the David Austin collection.
This rose is a repeat bloomer, flowering in multiple flushes from late spring to frost. Its upright and bushy growth habit, combined with dark green foliage, adds strong structure and vibrant color to any garden bed or border.
Planting Tips:
• Ideal for garden borders, mixed flower beds, or as a fragrant focal point near patios.
• Prefers full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil.
• Regular feeding and deep watering during the blooming season will maximize flower production.
Whether you’re planting for fragrance, color, or to add a classic David Austin rose to your collection, Jude the Obscure will not disappoint.

Bare root roses are live plants with seasonal availability. When you receive your rose will depend on your location. We will only ship roses within the right planting time for your area.
Bare root roses will be delivered between January and May, depending on your location. We only ship our roses when it is the right time to plant, and for this reason, shipping times may be affected by weather and may vary by location.
Please be aware that depending on when you order, your rose may not arrive until the following season.
We take great pride in the quality of our roses and much care into the handling and packaging of each order. We use FedEx for all shipments and realize that there are rare occasions that roses arrive in a condition we would find unacceptable. When that happens, please contact at support@rosesplant.com. We will do our best to ship you another box of the same or similar roses, provided we are not sold out. You may also decide to keep the purchase amount as credit for a future order.
Due to roses being perishable, we are not able to accept returns or refunds for any purchases.
